On OCTORAX you trade on the outcome of real events: elections, sports, crypto prices, world news. Every event is a question, and every answer has shares you can buy.

Shares, prices and chances

Each outcome has a Yes and a No share.
A share costs between 1¢ and 99¢. The price is the chance the market gives the outcome: 63¢ means about a 63% chance.
When the event is decided, each right share pays $1 to your balance, and each wrong share pays nothing.

An example

You buy 10 Yes shares at 40¢ for $4. If the answer is Yes, they pay $10 and your profit is $6. If the answer is No, they pay nothing and you lose the $4.

You can sell before the result

Prices move as news comes in. You can sell your shares at any time while trading is open: to take a profit early or to cut a loss.

Who sets the price?

On regular markets, prices come from the orders of members and of our market maker in the order book: a trade happens when a buyer and a seller agree on a price. The market maker keeps prices on both sides so that you can always trade, and sometimes it is the other side of your trade (platform liquidity).

Quick "Up or Down" markets work differently: you bet against OCTORAX at fixed odds, set when your bet is accepted, and a losing stake stays with OCTORAX. See the quick market rules.
