Question 1

What are winner, handicap and total lines?

Accepted Answer

Winner asks who wins the game. Handicap gives one side a head start in points or goals, so the result is counted with that margin. Total asks whether both sides together score more or less than a set number.

Question 2

How are the odds on a game formed?

Accepted Answer

They are prices set by traders on OCTORAX, shown as a percent chance or as decimal or other odds, as you choose in settings. They move with team news and other bets until trading stops.

Question 3

What is the minimum bet, and how am I paid?

Accepted Answer

The minimum order is 1 in shares. If your outcome wins, each share pays $1, so the payout is the number of shares you bought.

Question 4

When does trading stop, and how are games settled?

Accepted Answer

Trading on a game usually stops at kick-off. It is settled on the official final result as described in the rules, including whether overtime counts; postponed or cancelled games are handled as the rules say.
